This Privacy Policy explains how Plumber Leicester Pro handles information when you visit this website, call, email or request a callback. Your enquiry is used to help with the job you ask about. Optional analytics requires your permission.
Who handles your information
Plumber Leicester Pro is the name of this website and its plumbing and gas enquiry service for Leicester and nearby areas. In this policy, “we” means the website operator, who is responsible for deciding how the website’s enquiry information is used (the data controller). For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
The website operator currently receives email and callback enquiries. Calls to the website’s number are routed to the tradesperson handling jobs. The plumber or gas engineer who agrees to carry out work deals with the quotation, payment and invoice directly. Their own handling of job, invoicing and statutory safety records is separate; ask them for their business details and privacy information.
Information we receive
- Callback requests: your name, telephone number and property postcode are required. Your email address, selected service and message are optional. We also receive the time and website page associated with an enquiry.
- Emails and calls: the contact details and job information you provide, correspondence, and any necessary notes about your enquiry or its outcome. The call-routing service records call details such as the caller’s number, time, connection status and duration. Call recording is not currently enabled on our routing service.
- Website operation and security: technical details such as IP address, browser/device information, requested pages, times and suspected spam or abusive requests. These help deliver the site and protect the enquiry service.
- Optional analytics: with your permission, Google Analytics receives browser identifiers, device/browser information, approximate location and website activity, including page visits, telephone-button clicks and successful callback submissions. Our enquiry events do not send your name, telephone number, email address, postcode or message.
Please provide only information needed to discuss the job. Do not include bank-card details, passwords, identity documents or unnecessary health information. If you enquire for someone else, make sure they know you are sharing their details. There is no legal obligation to submit this form, but without the required details we cannot process a callback request through it.
Why we use it
- Responding to your enquiry and arranging contact: our legitimate interest is to help people who ask for plumbing or gas assistance reach the relevant tradesperson and to keep track of the response. We use only the details needed for that request.
- Keeping the service secure and dealing with problems: our legitimate interests are preventing spam, fraud and misuse, investigating delivery problems and handling complaints or legal claims.
- Meeting legal duties: where required, we use information to respond to data-rights requests or other applicable legal obligations.
- Measuring website use: we rely on your consent for Google Analytics. You can refuse or withdraw it without affecting your ability to enquire.
Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing or make decisions about you solely by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects. Automatic security checks may flag or reject suspected spam; you can email us if the form does not work for you.
Who receives it
The website operator and authorised people helping operate the website can access information needed to handle enquiries and maintain the service. Where needed to respond to your request, relevant contact, location and job details may be passed to the plumber or gas engineer handling it. That sharing is for your requested job, rather than circulation to unrelated marketing lists.
The services supporting the website include:
- Hostinger: website hosting, backups and the business email service that receives form notifications and correspondence.
- Cloudflare: delivery and protection of website traffic.
- Number People: telephone-number routing and call-detail records.
- Wordfence (Defiant): website security, including threat detection and security-network information.
- Google: Analytics when you opt in, and Google Fonts to display the site’s typefaces. Font requests send technical connection details, including your IP address, to Google independently of your analytics choice.
Our form currently sends entries to the business mailbox; separate WordPress form-entry storage and the form provider’s cloud entry backup are not enabled. Email copies, security records and hosting backups are separate from that form setting. We may also disclose relevant information to professional advisers or authorities where necessary for a legal duty or a legal claim.
Some providers operate internationally, including in the European Economic Area and the United States, so information may be processed outside the UK. Their published data-processing terms describe the applicable transfer arrangements, including recognised adequacy frameworks or contractual safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum. You can read the Hostinger data-processing terms, Cloudflare data-processing terms, Google’s Analytics data-processing terms and Wordfence privacy information. Contact us for further information about the arrangements relevant to your data.
Cookies and analytics choices
Google Analytics loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Choose No thanks to use the site without it. To change a saved choice, go to Analytics preferences at the bottom of the page, open the control and choose again. Declining stops further analytics collection by our website and removes its Analytics cookies from that browser; it does not undo information already processed.
- Analytics preference:
pl_analytics_choice_v1uses your browser’s local storage to remember your choice for 180 days. It is used to respect that choice, not to measure visits. Clearing site data removes it. - Google Analytics cookies:
_gadistinguishes browsers and_ga_43XXLW05D0maintains session information. Google’s default expiry is up to two years, with shorter limits imposed by browsers; for example, Chrome caps these cookies at 400 days. Expiry can refresh during a permitted visit. - Essential operation: security, login or traffic-protection functions may use necessary browser storage when those functions are used. These are separate from optional visitor analytics. The site does not offer customer accounts or an online checkout.
Your choice applies to this browser and device. Browser settings also let you delete or block cookies and site storage; blocking necessary storage may affect some functions. Google advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our analytics setup.
How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is retained while we handle your request and any related follow-up, complaint or dispute. The period depends on whether the enquiry is active, the last relevant contact, the nature of the issue and any legal need to preserve evidence. We assess whether information is still needed for these purposes and delete or anonymise it when it is not. There is currently no automatic deletion timer for the business mailbox. Contact us to request deletion or to ask about a particular record.
The local Wordfence traffic log is configured for a maximum of 30 days and 2,000 rows. Other hosting, email, backup and call-service records have separate provider retention arrangements and are not all deleted when an email or browser cookie is removed.
Google Analytics is currently set to retain event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. The user-data period resets with new permitted activity. Google processes expiry through its deletion cycle; these controls do not remove standard aggregated reports. The browser-storage lifetimes are described above.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, have it erased, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy where that right applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent to consent-based processing. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions.
Send requests or privacy complaints to [email protected]. Please give enough information to locate the relevant enquiry; we may need proportionate identity checks before releasing information. We normally respond to data-rights requests within one month, subject to any extension or pause permitted by law, which we will explain where applicable.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. See how to make a complaint to the ICO. You do not give up that right by contacting us first.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the enquiry process or use of information changes. Where a change requires fresh consent or direct notice, we will provide it before the new use starts. See also our website and enquiry Terms.
