What we fix

Five tap jobs, priced before we start.

From a slow drip in the kitchen to a frost-burst outside tap — we carry the washers, cartridges, valves and tools. No “we’ll order the part and come back next week.”

Kitchen tap leak

Spout drip, base wobble, water under the cupboard. Most kitchen taps fix with a new washer or a fresh cartridge — we carry both on the van. Job typically done inside 45 minutes, fixed price quoted before we start.

Bathroom basin or bath tap

Tighter access than a kitchen, sometimes worth replacing the whole tap when the cartridge is obsolete. We tell you which way’s cheaper before we touch a spanner.

Call now →

Outside / garden tap

Frost-burst, won’t turn off, leaking at the threaded joint. We replace the tap, fit a frost-proof one if you want, and lag the pipe so it doesn’t repeat next winter.

Call now →

Stop-tap or isolator stuck

Main stop-tap won’t close, isolator under the sink seized solid. We free it, replace it, or fit a new one — useful before any future plumbing job.

You’ve seen the plumber websites — the suspiciously perfect five-stars, the same three stock photos. We didn’t bother. When a real Leicester customer rates a real job, the review lands here verbatim.

Until then, here’s what you can count on.

  • Honest quote before any work starts — in writing if you want it.
  • Local 0116 Leicester phone — not a nationwide call-routing number.

Frequently asked

Before you reach for the YouTube tutorial, read this.

The questions Leicester homeowners and landlords ask most about leaking taps — including the awkward one about whose responsibility it is.

How much to repair a leaking tap in Leicester?

We don’t publish a fixed price band — every job’s slightly different (washer or cartridge, tap accessibility, parts you’ve supplied vs ours). What we do is tell you the figure on the phone before we leave the van. No bait-and-switch pricing, no surprise add-ons when we arrive. Fixed price, agreed first, paid only when it’s done.

Can you fit a tap I bought myself?

Yes — most jobs are bring-your-own-tap these days. We don’t mark up parts, so it’s often cheaper for you to choose the tap online and pay us the labour. We’ll happily tell you on the phone if a specific tap won’t fit your setup before you order.

What’s the difference between a washer tap and a cartridge tap?

Old-style “screw down” taps use a rubber washer that wears out — a quick washer swap fixes it. Modern lever / quarter-turn taps use a ceramic cartridge — a slightly bigger part to source but still a same-visit job. Both are repairable. We tell you which yours is before we quote, and the price for that fix specifically.

My outside tap leaks only when it’s cold — is that frost damage?

Almost certainly yes. A burst section inside the wall or in the run from the inside isolator. We drain back, replace the burst piece, fit a frost-proof outside tap, and lag the line. Insurance often covers this if there’s water damage.

Tenant question — my tap’s leaking, who pays?

If you’re renting, tap repairs are the landlord’s responsibility under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (Section 11). Tell your landlord first; if they delay, we can invoice them direct with your permission. We tell tenants this so nobody pays twice.

How long does a tap repair take?

Washer or cartridge: 30–45 minutes. Full tap swap: 60–90 minutes. Outside tap with re-routing: up to 2 hours. We give you a realistic time estimate when you call.
